Add Course Form:
- What it’s for: Adding a new class to your schedule after the main registration window has closed (during the official Add/Drop period).
- When to use: When you want to enroll in an open section late or adjust your timetable early in the semester.
- What it’s for: Removing a course from your current semester schedule.
- When to use: Early in the semester before the Drop deadline. Dropped courses are completely removed from your official transcript without penalty.
- What it’s for: Attending and participating in a class for personal enrichment without earning academic credits or a letter grade.
- When to use:When you want to learn a topic without the pressure of exams affecting your GPA (requires instructor approval).
- What it’s for:Requesting permission to join a course section that is already full or at maximum capacity.
- When to use: When a required class is full and you need instructor or department permission to add an extra seat.
- Overload Form: Apply to register for more credits than the maximum limit (e.g., above 30/36 ECTS) if you are in high academic standing.
- Underload Form:Apply to take fewer credits than the required minimum load due to special academic, medical, or graduating-term circumstances.
- What it’s for: Exiting a course after the official Drop deadline has passed.
- When to use: When you need to drop a class midway through the term. The course will remain on your transcript with a grade of "W" (Withdrawal) and won't impact your GPA.
Letter Grading System: NU undergraduate courses use a standard letter grade system ranging from A to F, including + and - variations
(except for A+, D-, F+, or F-).
Administrative Grades: Administrative grades record specific enrollment statuses or actions. They carry zero quality points and do not affect your GPA/CGPA:

Administrative Grades: Administrative grades record specific enrollment statuses or actions. They carry zero quality points and do not affect your GPA/CGPA:
- Audit (AU): Course participation without earning academic credit or a letter grade.
- Incomplete (I): Temporary status assigned when major course requirements are missed due to documented reasons (requires Dean approval). Work must be finished by the end of the next semester, or it converts to an F.
- In Progress (IP): Used for year-long courses to indicate adequate progress during the first semester; replaced by a final grade upon completion.
- Withdrawal (W): Granted when you officially withdraw from a course prior to the deadline or take an approved Leave of Absence.
- Administrative Withdrawal (AW): Issued if you are removed from a course for administrative or disciplinary reasons.
- Satisfactory (S): Grade of C or higher with strong attendance.
- Non-Satisfactory (NS): Grade of C- or lower, or attendance issues that place you at risk of failing. Course withdrawal may be advised.
- Calculation errors or incorrect grade entries in the system.
- Misapplication of the syllabus grading policy.
- Incomplete marking of an assessment.

A Leave of Absence (LoA) allows you to temporarily pause your studies at Nazarbayev University for a specified period due to medical, family, or personal circumstances.

- When to apply: When a serious physical or mental health condition, injury, or pregnancy prevents you from completing your coursework, and alternative arrangements (such as an Incomplete grade) are not feasible.
- Documentation: Official medical documentation is required.
- When to apply: When severe events affecting an immediate family member impact your ability to continue your studies. This includes childcare (maternity/paternity leave), serious family medical conditions, or bereavement.
- Eligible family members: Parent, spouse, dependent child, sibling, official guardian, or grandparent.
- When to apply: For non-medical circumstances, such as pursuing an external internship or full-time employment.
- Duration: Between 6 and 12 months.
- Academic Standing: Undergraduate students must hold a minimum 3.00 CGPA. (Requests with a lower CGPA require special review and discretionary approval by the Dean).

Dismissal refers to the official cancellation of a student’s enrollment by the University. Students who are dismissed forfeit their student status and access to university privileges and facilities. Grounds for dismissal generally fall into four categories:

- Chronic, unexcused non-attendance throughout the semester.
- Violations of the NU Student Code of Conduct or Academic Integrity policies.
- Submitting false, fraudulent, or misleading documents during admission or enrollment.
- Failing to return from an approved Leave of Absence (LoA) by the scheduled deadline without valid cause.

- Failure to sign the official Educational Services Agreement by the established deadline.
- Serious non-compliance with institutional policies, regulations, or Kazakhstani legislation.

- Requirement to redo the assignment or coursework.
- Lowering of a grade for a specific assignment or the entire course.
- Mandatory removal from the course.
- Formal written reprimand placed on the student's official academic record.

Academic mobility offers Nazarbayev University students the opportunity to study, conduct research, or participate in cultural exchanges at leading institutions worldwide. These programs are designed to broaden your global exposure, enrich your academic development, and expand your future professional prospects.
Student Academic Exchange:
Academic Performance: Minimum CGPA of 3.00 with no pending Incomplete ("I") grades.
Student Academic Exchange:
- Duration: 1 to 2 semesters (up to 1 academic year).
- Structure: A credit-bearing study program at an established partner institution. Tuition, application, and registration fees are waived on a reciprocal basis, and earned credits transfer back to NU.
- Duration: Up to 1 academic year.
- Structure: A credit-bearing program at a host institution on a non-reciprocal basis, with the option to transfer earned credits.
- Duration: Short-term, non-degree programs lasting up to 1 year.
- Structure: Flexible study options featuring credit-bearing coursework with the possibility of credit transfer to NU.
- Duration: Short-term.
- Structure: International cultural visits (credit-bearing or non-credit-bearing) arranged on either a reciprocal or non-reciprocal basis.
- To participate in an academic mobility program, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Student Status: Must be a degree-seeking student at NU on track to complete degree requirements within 4 years.
- Undergraduate students: Completed at least 1 full academic year at NU.
- Graduate students: Completed at least 1 semester at NU.
Academic Performance: Minimum CGPA of 3.00 with no pending Incomplete ("I") grades.
Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application submission.
Voluntary withdrawal occurs when you choose to officially end your enrollment at Nazarbayev University. Once processed, you will no longer hold active student status or access university privileges.

- Students Under 18: Signed written consent from a parent or legal guardian is mandatory.
- Email Submission: Scanned copies sent from your official NU email address may be accepted with prior approval from the Office.
- Third-Party Submission: A representative may submit paperwork on your behalf only if they present a valid, notarized Power of Attorney.
- Form Processing: The Office will draft and route the official Withdrawal Decision through EDMS for institutional approval.
- Checkout List: Complete the mandatory university Checkout List to clear all campus accounts and departments.
- Document Pick-up: Once your checkout is cleared, the Office will release your original personal documents and official academic transcript.
